Remote from the majority of the Welsh narrow gauge railways, the Welshpool & Llanfair differed from other Welsh lines in several respects. It was not built for slate traffic, it used the unusual gauge of 2' 6" and was a product of The Light Railway Act. Set in the lovely Welsh border country many of the items described have been restored and can still be seen on the Preserved Line.
W & L are supplied with 9mm gauge wheelsets. However it is not difficult to modify the kits for 12mm gauge running and kits can be supplied with the 12mm gauge wheelsets if required.
If you require 12mm please state clearly as 9mm will normally be supplied.

NL 6 The W & L owned two of these cattle vans and another two of similar type were transfered from the Vale of Rheidol Railway. An attractive addition to any model railway. Complete with 8mm metal wheels in either 9mm or 12mm gauge.

NL 11 Essential vehicles on any line without continuous braking! The kit is based on the W & L modified version of brake vans 1 & 2. Kit includes 8mm metal wheels in either 9mm or 12mm gauge.

NL 14 Basic vehicles for any line; the W & L owned 40 of these wagons. This is the modified version: Original and Private Owner types are also available. Complete with 8mm metal wheels in either 9mm or 12mm gauge and a coal load insert..

NL 15A This interesting sheep carrier was a conversion from the open wagon and the W & L had at least six of them in the two versions illustrated: NL 15A with a drop down door and NL 15B without the door. Both kits are supplied with 8mm metal wheels in either 9mm or 12mm gauge.

NL 17 This is the original form of the open wagon. It was from these that the sheep wagons were constructed. The kit is supplied with 8mm metal wheels in either 9mm or 12mm gauge and a coal load insert.
