The L & B opened in 1898 and ran for the
most part unprofitably until its closure in 1935. Unlike many of
its contemporaries in Wales the line was built on a rather grand
scale. The rolling stock was fairly massive by comparison and the
three kits available from Nine Lines represent some of the larger
eight wheel stock. Commercial success always eluded the line
under both the original management and later the Southern Railway
which closed the line completely, shortly after introducing many
improvements.

L & B kits are only available in 9mm
gauge. Vacuum pipes are NOT included in the
kits.

NL 1 is a bogie van modelled on one of
four built in 1927 for the Southern Railway by J & F Howard.
Originally constructed with double diagonal cross members they
were soon rebuilt to the form depicted by the kits.
The van kit is complete with PECO 9mm gauge wheelsets.

NL 5 is modelled on the original rolling
stock of the L & B. These wagons were numbered 12 & 13
and proved to be extremely popular and a number of varients were
produced in later years. The wagons underwent some modifications
during their lifetime and it is in their final form, with small
side hung doors, that the wagons are reproduced.
The wagon is complete with PECO 9mm gauge wheelsets.

NL 10 Another type of bogie open wagon,
four of these were built by the same makers and at the same time
as the vans illustrated above. The wagons were substantially
constructed and included a tarpaulin rail.

NL 25 This kit is modelled on the two
brake vans built for the L & B. Numbered 5 & 14 they originally had open guards verandahs. The open ends were soon
enclosed with end windows and glazed side doors.
Complete with PECO 9mm gauge wheelsets and
glazing.
